The tests usually start at 8.30am and are usually finished by 5pm. These tests provide information about how sleepy someone is at different times of day. The day following an inpatient polysomnography study the patient is asked to complete four or five 20-minute nap tests. Additionally, the patient is recorded on video so that any abnormal behaviours can be reviewed by the consultant. Different aspects of sleep quality including brainwave activity, breathing and limb movements are measured. The DME company will train you in how to use and take care of the CPAP equipment. If your physician is not with the U-M Sleep Disorders Clinic, you should contact your physician to obtain your results and order your equipment. The DME company will contact you within 1 to 2 weeks after we send the order to schedule an appointment for you to pick up your equipment.
